Elvis permanently left the building 35 years ago today.

Hard to believe that it's been 35 years since Elvis died in the crapper and went to hillbilly Heaven at age 42. I’m a huge fan (the first concert I ever saw as a kid was the Big E), so his death always will be one of those “I remember exactly where I was” moments. If he’d lived, he’d be 77 now. Hard to picture. Whether you like him or not, a guy like that comes once and only once, so rock some Elvis today or watch Bubba Ho Tep (his own movies stink).

It is definately one of those "I remember exactly where I was" moments. I had just come home from school and my grandmother (of all people) called and was crying about this.
