Elder Journey, 19/07/12 Pg7 Ran Out Of Clay.

5 pages and still no pics of clay,........your a tease Lee,.. but we like you fool!!
You were a topic of discussion last night when our friends came over for dinner. Strange because i didn't mention you. They saw your sculpts on FB,...so the legend of Usurper grows even more.
 
It will be great to see your take on the P2 Elder Lee. Would you still do a silicon of the elder too?

I will more than likely keep the 1st pull for me, then make a resin mould, from which i can take a silicone pull for me from. ( i still intend on doing this with my closed mouth P2. )

Sculpting table arrived, just waiting for the lazy susan, then i can start in earnest......................again AFTER i have reclaimed the clay from my leg sculpt.
 
I saw that you made a resin mold for your silicon torso and was trying to find your postings from your P1 silicon to reference from. I thought you did a silicon closed mouth P2? Couldn't you pull a silicon mask from an ultra cal mould? I remember you mentioned [I believe it was you] that once latex goes in a mould, it makes it harder to do a silicon pull [I think that was it?].

Yes you are correct I did a silicone pull from my stone p2 closed mouth mould. However the head was sculpted taking latex shrinkage into account, so it was a bobble head unlike my own p1 which was sculpted 1.1 for only silicone.
I kept the 1st latex pull of the closed mouth p2 as the latex has shrunk and will be the correct size for a direct silicone copy, as silicone does not shrink like latex.

So following that , I will be doing a stone mould for this, then keeping the 1st pull to hopefully do myself a silicone copy.
 
Table assembled = Tick
Lazy susan installed = Tick
Tools in drawer = Tick
spare Clay underneath = Tick

just need the clay from the p1 leg sculpt now

I am envious of your assortment of ribbon tools, since I broke one of the two I have :(

Now start slapping some clay on that puppy!
 
WOOOP! Its all coming together now bud, now get the mannequin head on the pike and start some clay slinging!
