Dye Sub prints sewing W.I.P *UPDATED 5•12•15!* Works Internationally

Re: Taylor/ Sonjou / Callmemilo prints sewing in progress... Pics posted

So this is my first Callmemilo print. I have to say that it was probably my favorite to sew. It was basically same design as Taylor or sonjou but it had a few differences that made sewing go much smoother. The only difference was I prefer the Lycra material vs the thinner under armor material. I feel lycra is a little more durable and easier to control while sewing and the under armor is very slippery when trying to pin and sew. It doesn't want to stay in place. I don't know Photoshop at all and I give all design makers major props. I just wish I could come in and help how to adjust suits to make more seamstress friendly and fit a male body a little better in certain areas.

I don't think all Sonjou's (or even Taylor's) are printed on thinner under armor material. They can be printed on Lycra (at least my Sonjou was printed on lycra when I ordered it through Fabric On Demand).

Was there any other differences with Callmemilo print that made it easier to sew?

That's awesome you were able to repair his suit! I almost cried when I saw the tears on his sides/back. That suit looks top notch now!

Absolutely gorgeous work. These suits definitely have a learning curve when it comes to assembly, but it seems you've kicked that learning curve right in its ***.

I've always said I want to see more Spideys in this world and you are single handedly making that a reality. Keep up the awesome work.

Do you always put the zipper on the mask as well as the u zipper on the back? Is that what you recommend?

Also, do you think my seamstress will have trouble with the zippers? It sounds so complex to me. Do you have any advice on putting the zippers in?

Re: Sub Dye prints sewing in progress... Pics*updated 1-7-2013* Works Internationall

So here are some more zipper pics!

Also I want to note that the mannequin the mask is on only has a diameter of 20 inches. So it is smaller than a normal head, and therefore appears loose.

:)

Re: Sub Dye prints sewing in progress... Pics*updated 1-7-2013* Works Internationall

So I am not trying to sound rude, but I do want to tell this to anyone who is thinking about having me sew a sub dye. This is blunt and may come off as rude through writing but it is not my intention.

I WILL NOT put of with disrespect of any kind.

I have posted pictures of my work and my capabilities. I have said multiple times that I am NOT a professional, but I have sewn 20+ of these suits. These suits are not completely 100% perfect in design. Are the great suits? Yes. Are they perfect? From my experience and classes, no.

Now, once we start commuicating closer on email about specific issues and needs, I do NOT tolerate attitude or belittling.

You have seen my work and progress pictures, and with each suit I learn something else and improve, but if you don't like my past work then don't ask me to sew your sub dye.

If this persists, I will automatically refund you deposit minus the shipping back to you costs, and move to the next in line.

I really appreciate all the kind words, helpful tips, and inquiries. I enjoy helping y'all complete the fun cosplays and I hope to continue. I just wanted to let you know that I want the respect returned to me that I give to you.

Thank you.

:thumbsup Here here!

And to anyone who has trouble with that simple concept, try to remember: This is only a hobby! If you're over the age of 13, no one else should have to tolerate you getting worked up over your super hero costume.

These things should be about fun from beginning to end. Show respect to the people who help bring that fun within your reach.

You are doing a great service for the community, Keep up the good work!

Who ever is giving you grief give them the boot , don't work with them again and move on, no sense in spending time on people who are inconsiderate.

I will be contacting you for MOS once mine is printed !

Thanks,
Mark

Re: Sub Dye prints sewing in progress... Pics*updated 1-30-2013* Works International

Never fails...It just takes one to ruin it for everybody. Please don't pay attention to the tantrum throwing people that sometimes roam these parts. Passion for the hobby is a double edge sword and it can get very ugly very quickly sometimes, but its not worth losing sleep over. Like Nick said, it's a hobby and its about the fun of it, no need for drama. Just go ahead and skip those people so you can get to my suit faster LOL :)

Hey TW, I was meaning to ask you: when you have a suit with a detachable extra mask (on the print) where in the neck of the bodysuit do you cut in order to leave in some slack for the extra mask to overlap? and is what's leftover from the bodysuit attached mask enough to make another neckless mask or is it basically a throw away at that point? I'm not sure if you've done Sonjou's Spidey yet but that's the print I'm working with. Your help is appreciated :D

Re: Dye Sub prints sewing in progress... Pics*Updated 1-30-2013* Works Internationall

Hey thanks guys. ....

Fett, the whole mask is put together like its going to be one piece. then I cut all the way across on the top where the center seam is that closes up on neck. You wont have enough for two separate masks. But it will be tall enough to tuck in separate mask.

Re: Dye Sub prints sewing in progress... Pics*Updated 1-30-2013* Works Internationall

That's what I thought. Same deal as with the Raimi patterns, basically. Oh well, Ill just save the extra pieces for something...don't know what yet but I'll make something with it...LOL. Gracias Trophy!
