Drizzt Do'Urden's Schimitars

We are working on a film project. We need stunt ready versions of Drizzt's Do'Urden's two schimitars Twinkle and Icingdeath. We need them to look as close to the official replicas as possible. The difficulty we come across is that we need them to be of maybe a plastic or some type of rubber material so we can use them for the fight scenes and not risk the actors being injured. We have planned and are training using a lot of thrusting and fast spinning moves so we want to be as safe as possible. Hi there.

Slightly O.T. but – aren’t scimitars meant to be Crescent shaped?

(I used to read a lot of Forgotten Realms when I was younger - I look forward to your progress.)

a rigid foam with a wire core might work. that or a thick latex casting.

sometimes even clay models are used for the stunt stuff. theres lots of options.

Yes, and the "official" swords are totally wrong in that regard. Also there's the fact that the ones being sold are too similar in shape and style, being based on Lockwood's paintings instead of the details from the books, since the 2 scimitars were acquired at different times, on different adventures. They're supposed to be completely different in design.

We agree that the swords are not as they should be in all the aspects you discuss...Does anyone have any experience with sword crafting or know anyone who does and can point me in their direction?
