Dragon Age: Inquisition - Rogue Inquisitor Prop Help

Hi All,

I am looking to make a set of Armour complete with props based on the Rogue Inquisition from Dragon Age: Inquisition.

What I cant work out, despite many hours in game and tonnes of screen caps taken, is what this small cylinder type item is on the belt of the Rogue characters.

I'm hoping to try to work out what it is supposed to be; or what it was based off of to get a better idea on how its constructed.

It is the item on the very right hand side of the belt.

It seems to have some kind of hook on the front of it so I assume it opens - but what could it be storing? And given the direction of the hook it looks to me like the bottom would be the end that opens, rather than the top?
It also looks to be a kind of octagon shape? I see three sides on the front and so I assume it would be mirrored on the back view and then at least two addition sides on each side?

It might also be worth noting that this is the only item on the Rogue belt that also appears in the newer 'casual' gear that can be worn running around your home at skyhold...?

Any help to solve this mystery that is bugging me would be greatly apprecited!!!

I would say its a lock pick set from what I can tell, as the hook is vaguely reminiscent of a pick. However, it is not based off any real work pick or set I have ever seen. I say its picks because it cannot be camping gear, as the casual clothes would not keep it. Picks, however, are something any rogue would never forget regardless of style. Still, it does seem a bit odd… does it change based on race or is it rouge specific?

I would expect it was that one side would be flat, as the images do not make it appear to "push out" but that may just be graphics limitations.

It would be interesting to look into this further, do you have more references? I love the game, so this kind of info would be vital for any future custom or prop plans.

ok, so the concept artist for the classes just tries to make stuff look cool. It's most likely not for something specific. The Art director would say "put some cool looking **** on the belt" and the concept artist would do it and then the modeller would model it. Don't look to much into it. (Source: I worked in the art department from DAO all the way through to DAI pre-production) If you want to get a better look at it you could probably download the toolset and take a close up look at it but that's probably a lot of work. http://forum.bioware.com/topic/529048-dai-tools/http://forum.bioware.com/topic/529048-dai-tools/
