I'm really tempted to get one of these, but I wanna know how accurate it is.

Apparently it's a lot smaller than the plastic one, but that was oversized, right?

And does it have the design on the back?

Anyone know anything about these?

It looks beautiful. I too was hoping to pick one up but I wanted to see one up close before I plucked down the cash.

Maybe they'll have one at Gallifrey Con coming up a few weeks and I can let you know then.

What about the Doctor's fob watch? Are they making that one, too? :confused

I know about an unlicensed version of the Doctor's that looks pretty good. I've been waiting to buy one until the exchange rate of £s to $s got more favorable, which it recently has. But if there's a licensed version available, obviously I want to compare the 2 to see which one looks more accurate before I order one. ;)

Are you referring to the Celestial toystore watch? Their site appears to have been shut down...

Yeah, that's the one I was referring to. Sucks that their site is down. The exchange rate is finally more favorable, and it's now too late to order their props! (n)angry

It certainly looks good quality, plus the reviews on that site say it's definitely better than the plastic CO one.

I got a ring from that store (see the doctor who showoff thread on the props page). The watch was defiantly next on the list! I'm sure you could still try and email the guy though.

I sure hope that if anyone gets this watch, that they post a pic. I know I would appreciate it.
Pictures can be found HERE. The thing is MUCH too small at only 1½" across, and it has another major inaccuracy: The button on the side. :thumbsdown

The best replica so far was the one made by and sold at the Celestial Toystore website. I've waited several months to buy one because the exchange rate from £s to $s was so unfavorable last year. Now, the exchange rate is finally getting better, and the Celestial Toystore site is down! :eek

I hope the BBC hasn't gotten them shut down, because that would SUCK! :unsure

It sucks that the Celestial Toystore is down. I was hoping to get the Master's ring.
I'm a bit disappointed with the watch now.

Am I the only one that isn't impressed with putting the light up effect on the watch. To me I just want it to be a watch. The effects on the show were all done in post-production weren't they? If so... Then putting the light in it isn't very screen accurate. Especially when you put a button on there that wasn't there in the show.
To me putting the light up effect on a metal version is just making a more expensive toy. Of course if they could hide the button. I could probably overlook it more.
It's a bit overpriced since it isn't very accurate.

I wish I had gotten a better look at the one over at the Celestial Toystore or had saved the pic to my harddrive.

I may be able to find some pics of the Celestial Toystore one. I'll check and report back if I find any.

His wasn't 100% accurate, either, but overall, it's the best replica made so far. :cool:thumbsup

The site is up again, and I'm corresponding with him atthe moment :)

I wonder how accurate the Master's ring is.

Main thing I can see wrong with the watch is the color (though that could be due to the lighting), but it still looks good. I'm not sure what else makes it not 100% screen accurate. I can't afford the price tag on it right now. I hope it's still around when I can and I hope everyone has good luck with this site also. My luck with Doctor Who props haven't been that good lately and they're my favorite type of props. (That was due to the sellers.)

I ordered a Celestial Toymaker watch :)

His communications are very good, quick to answer questions. The dealmaker for me was that he now takes paypal. My reluctance before was largeley due to the Western Union payment method.

The biggest innacuracy that I can see is the pattern on the inside of the lid.

Will post pics and review when I get my watch :thumbsup

If you are super picky...you can see other minor things...which is why I do not have one.

The latch, the whole top stem looks off...but its a nice replica...just not for $300 for me...

Ya I think I'm going to pass on that one too. Just too high a price right now for some of the minor problems with it. I'll wait until they prefect it a bit more or until someone else does a better job.
I wonder how good the watch itself is.
