Sup guys. Working on a doctor doom mask and eventually a full suit. Been working on this whenever I have an hour or so. Here are some pics of the progress.
Started with a basic plaster cast of my head. Put on some clay as a base. blocked our where the mouth was going.

Made an eye and starting messing with the interior mouth piece.

Okay. There is kind of big jump from the last photo and this one. Got into a mode and forgot to document :/ I pretty much just worked on one side until I was okay with it and added more clay to try and level the sides. Added nose, the cheek curves, and flatted sides.

Smoothed out both sides. Still have to work on the jaw parts and even them out.

Made the brow more mean and added the rivets. I think they are iron on studs I found on Walmart for a dollar and some change. Still need to add some more. Got everything to where I really liked it. The white part in the mouth is the lip from the plaster head. Froze this thing in my fridge, sanded it rough to get even and make sure there are no dips. Used a high grit sandpaper to smooth, and then a sanding sponge dipped with 91% Isopropyl Alcohol to get a nice smooth finish. Could be smoother, but it I feel like its ready to mold at this point and get to the final touch ups and heat warping when this thing is in plastic.

It is as symmetrical as its going to get in clay without me going bananas, but I am pretty stoked about it. Plan on adding some scroll work on the sides later one. Possible free form air. Going to make a junk cast to work on this in plastic and try some new things. Also got a new airbrush, so I plan on making some casts to test it out and make sure everything is good.
