My helmet arrived today. I’ll post pictures when I get home.

Finally received tracking number. Should be here this week or next. Any body want it I can cut a deal.

Finally received. Not worth keeping. For the time waited it is a real let down. Paint is simply flat with no depth. Chrome is essentially silver spray paint.

I have been waiting to hear back from the Rocketeer about the problems with my helmet before posting here but have received no response, so here goes. The main reason I purchased this helmet over the Anovos was because of the servo controlled snout piece. When I finally received the helmet, the first thing I did was to see how it worked. After putting in the batteries, I was hearing a hum coming from the servo, which usually means the servo is binding. I pushed the button and the snout did not open the way it should, pushed the button again to close it and did that two more times and on the fourth try the snout opened correctly. I tried it again and I heard a pop, the servo arm snapped where it connects to the servo gear. All I did was push the button, nothing else, the material is so thin where it connects to the servo gear, no wonder it broke.

After inspecting the rest of the helmet, I noticed hot glue visible by the visor and on the side.

Looking at the inside of the helmet, the servo controller is visible if the helmet is displayed above eye level and one of the power supply wires has already come loose. the small amount of padding is already coming loose as well. Also, there was no thought in how the battery pack was going to be attached, the way it is now, it just hangs down.

I can't believe I spent $690, plus $65 shipping for this poorly designed and sloppily constructed helmet. I had a bad feeling about this helmet with the delays and the lack of communication from the Rocketeer and I was right.

Wow, sorry to hear the problems everyone is having with their helmets. I would expect some mechanical issues on a project like this as it’s a homemade helmet, but the helmet construction and paint should have been near to perfect so at the minimum it would at least make a great display piece when compared to ANOVOS and others. I almost got in on this run but was too late. My bad luck may have turned out to be good luck after all. I hope everything’s works out. Good luck.
