Rocket, any chance you'd be willing to sell just the eyes? I think they'd work perfect for my Falcon goggles...

OK last day of collecting deposits.. I will send out a PM to remind people of the deadline.. but here is the helmet all done and ready to mold.. starting to do the clay work tonight. Molding over the weekend :) hopefully a test cast next week.

OK I haven't got all the silicone..tomorrow I'm told. Molding as much as I can right now.....I'll leave deposits open until I have the molds made :)

So...the silicone and other molding supplies took until yesterday evening to get here.. So I started the molding today. This will take a bit to get done, there are 11 molds total I need to make (2 sided for pressure casting..I hope :)

I will try my best to keep the thread updated with pics of the process and try my best to get done as soon as I can. Thanks for your patience, trying to make this my best one yet :)

2-sided pressure cast helmets?!? You're out of control Curtis!

Thanks :) I may have spoke too soon... Initial mold went horribly wrong :p so the main pieces will still be slush cast. But more than 1/2 the pieces will be pressure cast.

Oh it will be all good..just the faceplate and the backplate wont be as nice inside :p all the pieces that need to fit together will be 2 part molded.. I think I can make it work :p I've done a few helmets before. :)

Sorry I have no clue what a "Cold cast" vs "Raw cast". Could you catch me up to speed or direct me to some informative literature?

Cold cast means the cast has metal powder infused in with the cast, so you can "buff" it up to look like metal...it takes some work to get it shiny, and saves some painting on the helmet. Raw cast simply means its a raw cast, no sanding, trimming or prep done at all.. All my casts are raw casts, even the cold cast helmets. If you want it finished there is an extra charge.

Having said all that the deposit part is closed and I am into the molding process on this helmet.

Quick update.. molding is 1/2 way done.. I had a bad batch of silicone and all my molds where not turning out.. now I am back on track and have a bunch finished.. once I have them done I will have a resin cast to show on here..soon :)
