Re: ironmaided's (another) ironman mark 8-42-47 freehand foam build (version 2)

im more curious as to how you sealed this up ? iv done foam builds before and i have problems with my paint job cracking on me because the thin foam flexes way to much. and the glue i used to seal it just shatters. iv managed to finally get a source for the thicker foam you guys use. my mk 42 will be the first suit i make to use this foam and i really dont want to screw it up.

What size foam do you suggest?

Re: Mark 17 "heart breaker" FOAM build: update 05/17/13 HELMET WIP

Hey man first off id like to say that you do amazing work, truly, now that ive buttered you up ( albeit deservingly so) i have a question on pep scaling.
Now ive researched and found that 25.4 mm = 1 inch is that correct, and also how much room extra should i add, say my sons head is 10 inches from ear to ear , should i add 1 or 2 inches to the scale for comfort. Sorry i dont usually ask stupid questions but i dont want to have to redo things over and over to get it right, rather have good info for a one time build. Thanks in advance =)

thanks man :) hmmm about the scale on the helmet, yes i usually add extra space for me to insert some electronics inside, about 1 inch to be exact. for the whole suit though just like the heartbreaker model, i based it on my height as balmung advised me and then add 40-60mm, and it works. . .or should i say fit perfectly :thumbsup

on the other hand, some pep files (like robo's mark 4-6, darkside501st's mark 7 etc.), i measured them part by part, for example i use different scales on different parts of darkside501st's mark 7, the torso (chest, back, abs) default scale of 23.something fits me right, but not the cod piece so i need to scale up the cod piece by 10%. hope it gives you the idea. and oh. . .about scaling on freehand builds (my mark 42's), i mixed up both methods i mentioned above, measure my body parts part by part then add 1inch allowance inside, and get the estimated height of the suit. i'm 5'4' to be exact (to small to be ironman :( ) but when i suit up, my height increased by 3 inches, making me 5'7" lol :)
