Does anyone know this seller?

That is the Korbath Kit Tie Bomber, someone re made it. I can promise you it looks 1000% better then the one I got from Korbath. Mine has holes and bent parts like no other.

Well.....

Studio Modeler on YouTube features several kits he says he mastered. The last project before this was a Studio Scale Sandcrawler resin kit that in the end didn't get off the ground. In a thread here on the RPF discussing my Studio Scale Sandcrawler it became clear that the Studio Modeler of that YouTube channel is Mike Tait. You should DEFINITELY do a search here and elsewhere online on Mike Tait and what this individual has done in the hobby.

I can't be sure the eBay seller is the same Studio Modeler / Mike Tait. It could just be a very unfortunate choice for a handle name. Mike Tait was known to create several aliases and respond to his own posts / adverts in a positive way to give himself some credibility.

Sorry I can't give you a yes / no. Personally I would move along, move along....

I thought of Mike Tait when I saw the posting but didn't want to make accusations before checking around here... new people enter our hobby regularly... but most don't master their own kits unless they've been around here a while... and are known by at least a few of us.

I sent Mike a couple thousand dollars for an IG 11 model a month ago, should I be worried?

He went caught on the communication so googled his name and found this thread.

Paid with PayPal goods and services.

Uh...yeah. Luckily you paid with "goods and services". Don't let the time for getting your items expire.

I’d say, since communication has already stopped, open a claim now. It will protect you if he continues to ignore you, but it may also light a fire under his *** to start responding and get the items done. Sometimes sellers suddenly take care of the squeaky wheel as opposed to how they treat the ones who sit back and just take their poor customer service.

Oh, and when you put in a dispute, don't remove it until you get your item or your money. Once a dispute is removed, you can no longer put another one in for the same transaction (unless that is changed recently...I haven't had any problems that needed a dispute lately).
Be very familiar with the recommendations of the PayPal resolution process and follow the rules.

Ok thx everyone - he has reached out now - and to clarify it was 1320USD (when I said 2000 I was thinking in Canadian dollars but it’s closer to 1700 Canadian)

Hopefully you get something from him that is worth 1700 bucks. Check over your purchase with a magnifier to ensure you are getting exactly what you paid for. Better to lose a few bucks on shipping it back to him, rather than to accept a faulty product for that much money. In addition, don't let him drag out getting your IG11. Scammers say that it's coming along, or it's almost finished for months, until PayPal won't recognize your dispute because too much time has passed.
