I've been wanting to do a serious cosplay for a while, but I want to do one i actually look like.
Any ideas for characters that i could resemble? I'm mostly fan of superheroes. 10868062_1006110239406347_2418239996861191541_n.jpg10922690_1006110299406341_4353420881822916053_n.jpg10931529_1006110559406315_3941526251665275372_n.jpg10933779_1006110149406356_4675825511499337750_n.jpg10933947_1006110132739691_7632054179588174587_n.jpg

My suggestion would be to pick a character you like rather than trying to shoehorn yourself in to any character you happen to resemble (unless that's what you really want). What shows do you like, and what do you have in mind in terms of what you want to accomplish?

As i said, everything with superheroes and doctor who too.

I'm trying to get a cosplay that isn't too hard in terms of costume making, the props is no problem

My point is that's a wide, wide spectrum to choose from. Choose something you enjoy and could imagine spending time on. Cosplay needn't be about resemblance; how many of us have the bodily proportions of a superhero? Rather than looking for someone else to label who you look like, why not convince us why you would make a good _______?

With respect i would say it would be rather tough as you look quite young and most of the popular heroes are in thier 30's-40's. You can try and look into younger hero, teen titan maybe i am unfamilliar with that group. Good luck to you though...GM

You probably could pull off a very effective Dark Helmet from Spaceballs, but in all honesty, do whatever you want to do. The biggest factor of any costume that really sells it is the enthusiasm the creator shows. Just have fun, and it will look great regardless.

Best of luck

There is alot of stormtroopers out there because most of us look nothing like Harrison Ford...Any costume that you think is cool and makes you happy is where to start or you can always do like the rest of us stormtroopers and do both by wearing a mask.

Just put on whatever costume makes you happy and own it.

And If someone says, "you sure don't look like _________", who cares. Hardly anyone else does, either.

Can't tell you how many 5'4" chubby Darth Vaders I've seen... Or VERY overweight gals dressed as a Night Elf from WoW...

Go with what you like. Unless you want to dress as a female Night Elf. Keep that one at home. PLEASE! just kidding (not really kidding...)

Or a male slave Leia. One just cannot unsee those without chemical help.

The unfortunate part of wearing a costume that doesn't really 'fit' your face or body is when someone takes a crappy picture and it ends up on the Internet. If you want a picture of someone in a costume, ask them to pose, and take the picture. No sneak pictures from across the room. Actually, I have seen some really attractive people and/or costumes end up looking like crap on the Internet from poor photography.
