Disney Prop Museum

I teared up a bit reading that. Afterveiwing sooo many rotting props, this sounds like a refreshing change. fingers crossed . . . .

I'm not sure that photo is the original Nautilus. It could be the cutaway version that was on display at the 20,000 Leagues ride for several years. I know the screen used Nautilus hung in the Epcot Center "Living Seas" exhibit for a long time.

And I wish they'd do a little more research before printing an article... I didn't read the whole thing, but one error jumped out at me. Steamboat Willie was not the first Mickey Mouse cartoon. It was the second one released, but the third one made... Plane Crazy was the first. Steamboat WAS the first Disney cartoon with synchronized sound, however.

You can agree or dissagree with the Disney influence on our culture..... but to me, that man was a genius and an inspiration!!

yes,
it was at the Living Seas before they re-themed it to Finding Nemo. It kinda dissapeared during the rehab, through a lot of leg work I was able to locate it's whereabouts and we convinced them to let us restore it back to the way it used to be in 1955...

Years ago, I saw in an exhibit at Disney World the hat, sword and mask that Guy Williams wore as Zorro. I have looked at least four times since and have not seen them. I hope someone has them preserved. Zorro was my first hero when I was a child.

I would LOVE to go to a Disney Museum! Honestly, it would be one of those things that I would love to take my family to see, and would just enjoy reading all the little captions and watching videos and such.

Again, I dont understand why George Lucas hasn't done this as well. Peter Jackson plans one for the Lord of the Rings items someday, he has talked about it publicly many many times.

I hope we see this come to life. I would LOVE it!

I went to the Disney family museum in San Francisco about a year ago. It had some neat artifacts in it. It was not affiliated with Disney Corp. So it did not have a lot of props in it. It did however, have what was believed to be the first sketch of Mickey Mouse.

And let's not forget, The Family Museum has Walt's original Lilly Belle! LOTS of cool stuff there, and only 15 mins from home. :)
