Direct to DVD/BD.....Why even bother

So tomorrow Death race 2 comes out tomorrow for dvd/bd Its not a sequel but a prequel.

Not sure if any of you liked death race. But i saw some clips of this, could of been great if they devoted real money to it

Because they can make them for cheap and make anice little profit in the rental/sale department by releasing direct to dvd.

The real problem with Direct 2 Market films is that they end up doing crap content. I actually thought that the two Stargate SG-1 D2M films were pretty good for what they were. I think that an "upgraded" TV show, say, released a few times a year, is a great way to continue a series.

Instead, though, they'd rather bankroll the next Roger Corman ventures.

Direct to video makes the most profit and alot of direct to video directors like coreman have a huge fan base. I usually go with direct to video because the stories are usually (not always sadly) better than mainstream movies who only care about blowing stuff up and fancy FX.
