Debate: Zentai Hero Costumes vs. The Licensed ones Sold at Halloween time

I have been thinking about this for a while. While i own both varaties and higher end Costumes, Thinking about what would be more marketable in the sense of selling. Each has the same price. 60usd for a run of the mill spider-man costume at a halloween store, and depending on who you buy from in china 50usd to 70usd. for the zentai counter part.

What are your thoughts and should halloween stores change there way of thinking.

Neither costume looks good. These photographs are AS GOOD AS THESE CAN POSSIBLY LOOK. Imagine what garbage they look like in real life.
A waste of money at both ends, and the top one is wrong, and probably illegal.

I agree, I wouldn't bother with either. Marvel has a pretty good Spiderman costume for around $100 its on ebay all the time.

The whole idea wasnt to slam either I know they are not up there in regards to what most of us have. I am just saying if you were strapped and had 60usd which would you go for.

I'd get neither. They both suck ass. I'd save my money until I wasn't strapped.

If you need a decent, cheap undersuit in just a standard color I would say the zentai suits are very nice. I have used them for a few things and they worked out well. Not the best things ever, but great for the money.

I have a comic style Spidey costume from one of those China sellers. Looks better than that one above. I am happy with it for $55. I'm pretty sure everyone will still know who I am.

I'd definitely have to vote in favor of the zentai suits. The "American" costumes are not only dumbed down for mass-production but also have to accomodate the ever-increasing waist of the general public. Those zentai suits tend to cater to a specific demographic who feel a lot more comfortable with their bodies and better reflect, in my eyes, what the costume should look like, even if the quality still isn't up to par.

So basically, between a pile of crap and a pile of dirt, I'd take the dirt. :lol

I thnk I'd vote for the Zentai suits. 1 cause I'd be able to get it in a custom size to fit ME and not a standard that mass production might follow. I have bought a couple suits from someone in China off of ebay as base suits to add stuff too. Though honestly, I try to make my own when I have time
