Death Star Interior Flooring Ideas?

I’ve been building a Death Star Interior and I’m looking for a way to create a portable glossy black floor. Ideally, something like the flooring that comes in rolls.

Very cool project, looks fantastic. Not sure about flooring options other than vinyl if it needs to be a single piece solution.

Thanks! I’ve been doing LOTS of looking and haven’t come up with much. I’d be willing to go with a couple rolls - if they even make a gloss black vinyl (in rolls.) I have found stick on vinyl squares that might work if this was a permanent installation.

So far I’ve taken this on a troop in October and just went with the floor at the location. I just finished another panel and will eventually add another light panel.

Have you thought about 10mm Black Perspex sheets with a clear film to prevent it from being overly scratched, you would get some foot traffic on it and would probably get some scratches but hopefully the clear film would prevent to many scratches and easily replaced

Formica would be good as it’s harder wearing than Perspex

Look around locally for a flooring provider that has a high gloss vinyl. You can roll it out and up when you are finished. You may need to clamp it down on the sides where the walls can't rest on it, if it is going to be a high traffic area.

I’ll check, locally. I was thinking of 2” black gaffer tape for the edges. It’s a pretty robust tape which I’ve used to tape power cords to the floor.

there´s high gloss laminate, vinyl and PVC flooring...lots to choose from

You should consider to check out a PVC "dance floor", comes on a roll -even if satin/ semi gloss- and can be easily rolled out before/ removed after the event

I’ll check out the dance floor idea - thanks for the idea. Been coming up empty with my Google searches. Very difficult to find a smooth black satin or gloss surface that I could break down and transport.

The Formica/ Laminate is pretty tough but will DEF wear overtime but it does come in array of colors.
