DCnU New 52 Red Hood - Going for 90% accuracy - abandoned project :(

Re: DCnU New 52 Red Hood - Going for 90% accuracy

Now for some actual updates, I'm almost finished the jacket

Just need the collar, which is what I'm working on on Monday, the zipper, and to finish up the bottom seams. I'm particularly most proud of my sleeves, because it was hell to put zippers onto vinyl.

A bit of red lining and the sleeves are set.

For the suit, I still haven't gotten to the armor yet, but it is almost finished, all that is left are gloves as I have attached the neck piece.

The socks are staying on perfectly, so no need to waste my time sewing on snap buttons, and I'll be making soles for them next week.

Almost finished the base of the entire costume, I'll get some actual armor/helmet/gun progress done soon. I will be getting a respirator mask some time this week, so I will be finishing the guns (as I hope to have 2 done before this week) with fiberglass and body filler.

Got a lot of work done on the jacket, mainly in the neck piece which is finally attached and giving the jacket the "Red Hood" feel to it. Snap buttons will be attached after I'm done the lining of the sleeves to finish off the neck.

I grabbed some of the extra red lining from another project I was doing and sewed in a zig-zag formation until I covered the entire width of it with red lines. I am currently hand-sewing the lining into the sleeves. Tedious work, but so far it's looking good, and I'm almost done the jacket.

I bought some foam today and will be starting on making the zipper, but for now I'm going to hold of on starting the armor. I'll start the armor pieces when I get gloves done, that way I have a smaller canvas to work from where I can screw up before working on the biggest pieces first.

Just wanting to know where did you get the pattern for the jacket?
It looks sweet by the way.
I only ask because I am also cosplaying as the Red Hood and I was in the Dragon Con parade this year with an actual leather jacket on and almost died from the heat.
Next year I am planning on making a jacket out of some lighter material and also something that breaths.
Anyway could really use some help.
