Devastated to hear it yesterday and spent the whole day living the "art life" in his honor. Being creative, drinking black coffee, and smoking cigarettes.
Being a fan of Surrealism (I'm Belgian after all), I always loved the "Childlike vision" with a dose of Adult and the humor stemming from that view of existence. A big loss for sure
I was around 12 when my dad took me to see Lynch's Dune at the cinema. It blew my tiny mind.
Along long with the obvious Star Wars, I fully credit it with cementing in my lifelong love for SciFi.
I have almost no knowledge of Lynch other than his name and trying and failing to watch Dune multiple times
I will have to remedy that!
I had no idea who was playing John Ford in the Fabelmans, but it was my fave part of the movie so I was quite surprised when I looked it up to find “David Lynch”
Which led to me watching a doc he did on meditation and he seemed genuinely awesome.
I just got Eraserhead… cuz may as well start at the beginning… and delve into his library
And as I understand it, it’s weird… but I’m in my anything goes phase of movie watching so looking forward to it.
