darthwhitey Man Cave show off thread...

Just incredible. Exactly my aesthetic and a beautiful collection. Where did you get that Maul print, if you don't mind me asking? It's quite striking.

The Maul is an original oil painting done by Rich Kunz.

The artist had it signed by Ray Park. He loved it so much he wrote a bunch of extra stuff on the painting. LOL "This is amazing art!" and "Sith Rule!"

You can get a print here...

I was really happy how this one turned out. Art by Rich Pelligrino. Replica prop Wonka bar and ticket from Roland here on the RPF.

Expertly shown off!! Beautiful setup, very jealous - my home cinema/mancave is all squeezed into one small room. Nice collection too - quite similar theme to my own, star wars, marvel, Lord of rings and Indians Jones. Ive got a bit of star trek and harry potter too. How long did it take to collect? Or did you build? Mine is a bit of both, but sadly not in the same league. Anyway great to see, thanks for sharing

Thanks very much everyone!

ScoobiJohn...I probably started collecting 1:1 props about 20 years ago. It's been a slow process and my collection has evolved over time. So much depends on your budget and display space. My focus has always been on a clean and uncluttered display. I try to display what I love and sell everything else. This hobby can consume your money and time if you let it. It's all about balance.

OK...so I switched some things around a bit...my LOTR collection added a new Helm of the Galad-hrim, so it prompted me to change things up. I'm pretty happy how the Rohan helms and swords display now...what do you guys think?

Adding to all the compliments here… very well laid out displays. Love the clean and modern interior design. And love the less-is-more approach. One of the biggest issues I see in collections (and constantly struggle with myself) is clutter! There’s just so many cool props and statues out there. To cull and refine your collection to key pieces and stick to that is a skill and discipline all in itself. Well done on achieving just that! Amazing.

Wow, thanks for the compliments. Yes, clutter is the thing I try to avoid. Less is more....and it allows you to focus on the props you only really LOVE or at least the ones that fit the aesthetic and the look of the overall collection.

More pics to come...I always seem to be dialing things in :)

More changes...seems like I'm always tweaking and adding...LOL

Here are a few NEW shots from the LOTR area...

Frodo and Sam "Orc Disguise" helmets from the very talented Harvey Harrison from the UK...3D printed then textured and painted by Harvey, these are fantastic...

gotta find a good way to display them together, but for now this works...also would like to add something for that wall behind them...perhaps another appropriate prop or art piece? Not sure what...

I stumbled onto the work of Magdalena Katańska on Facebook...she offers three LOTR inspired pieces...they are all great, but I went with her King Theoden piece.

I'm really happy with how the framing turned out...the frame looked kind of "Rohan-ish" to me! LOL

The artwork itself is spectacular. Lots of little details, and the face of Theoden looks photo real. Love the horse too, just a unique and different piece!

A few updates to the Star Wars area...I think this is finally getting to be about where I'm happy with it...it's taken a couple years of tweaking with additions and subtractions. Who am I kidding, I'll always be changing it as new stuff comes out! :)

I re-did the "SW Weapons" display...again!

I also added a "send in" plaque to have signed by Anthony Daniels from Official Pix...my first time doing that...it was cool to do, I may end up doing more!

Finally, I added a third element to my small MCU display...Thor's Mjolnir from King Arts.

I think this is a great addition because of the "rule of three"...the statue and shield alone looking boring and it was just missing something...
