Limited Run Darth Vader Post ROTJ ILM Lightsaber casting RUN CLOSED

After doing my own Energizer project I went back to the RPF boards to make sure I got all my photos in order and I nearly forgot about this run! Since I have my own scratch made parts on Etsy now, I wanted to edit this to let any future members know this was a one-time thing. There was so much interest at the time I didn't want to "gate keep" and this seemed like a good way for some people to get access to something they never would see, like the ROTJ saber casts. Since then, I've learned a lot more details of its creation and now that I know it was a small operation it feels more artistic and less production-like. This is why I'm sticking to scratch made items from here on out.

If you haven't seen the interest thread: @adamata and I will be offering a limited run of ILM castings. These are made from a casting I procured of a Lightsaber most likely made by Don Bies and his team after Return of the Jedi. It is closest to the saber that went up for auction in the Hollywood Auctions catalogue, as well as the Energizer Bunny saber, but it's in much better condition frankly. The "control box" near the emitter hasn't fallen off and the T track are all intact.

Discovery Thread here, including pictures: Darth Vader Stunt and Promo lightsaber casting

I'll quote Brandon from The Prop Store of London here.
"Don Bies made one hero lightsaber prop for the Energizer Bunny commercial. This was made from scratch - no link to original trilogy sabers other than being influenced by the design.

The resin casting in this thread is from a mold of the Energizer saber that was made to produce resin lightsabers for the Vader touring / promotional costumes that Don Bies (under DNA Productions I believe) made in the mid to late 90s."

Coincidentally it has 7 track like the ANH sabers, but was made decades later. It also shares a greeblie with the Barbican and the ROTJ Vader Graflex stunt saber that we can't figure out, it looks like a fuse box or something.

Okay down to the gritty details:
They will be USD $75 + shipping. Shipping for the United States will be a Flat Rate of $15 for Priority Mail and packaging materials, $25 outside the US. Total $90 shipped to the US, $100 outside the US. Please include your username and address with the payment on the Paypal website.
Paypal - t.delmonte9@gmail.com

These will be raw cast in White Resin by Adamata and shipped to me. I will then be able to package and sell them from here. The T-track IS delicate, so I am going to pack them as best I can. They need very little clean-up, only about 5 minutes of sanding. As for paint and finish, it's up to you, the artist!

The first run is already complete! There are 12 sabers. I'm keeping one for myself, and I had two pre-orders two months ago from people that lived in my neighborhood. The rest will be first-come-first -serve. Please post on here stating that you are signing up for a casting. I won't ask for payment until I'm physically sitting in front of the castings and ready to ship - but I will consider your sign-up as a commitment to purchase.

We have the ability to do a second run, which can be 14-15 instead of 12. SO don't fret if you miss this one! We will start a second run if enough people sign up.

Run 2 has been completed! :)
Run 3 may not happen for a long time. The mold has started to give out after so many pulls, so we'll have to repeat this entire process again, and that may not happen for some time. Keep an eye out in the coming seasons.

Yeah I figured the same thing. I think Tom is going to find out there is going to be huge demand for these. Closest franchise piece alot of us will ever own.

So does anyone think about the greebies we can add or replace. It looks like there are 2 rings from what I have seen in the image search engines. One on the bottom as well as the top. Add a card to the clasp. Maybe real metal screws and new t track could make some nice mods.

Thoughts

Thanks for letting others in first guys!

I believe the fiberglass that Tony used makes this mold especially durable. As long as he's willing to physically buy resin and put in the time to pour, we can meet realistic demands :)
