I just purchased this vader helmet today from eBay and was wondering about it’s origins? Excuse the pics but I couldn’t save the pic so I screen shot it. Thanks

After looking at the photos, in my opinion this helmet looks like its from the Fyberdyne family which it originates from Don Post studios back in 1977 as they were going to release their own 1:1 version of the ANH helmet but that project got scrapped.

The inward bowing of the mouth vent is a fyberdyne trait.

The paint job on that helmet is poorly done might I add. There is a ton of paint runs on it.

i saw the fiberdyne helmet on Star Wars helmets .com but this is missing that little bump on on the fore head, so if it does originate from fiberdyne they must have modified it heavily to rotj

I think for that price your not wrong with this helmet. You can make some mods and repaint it.;)

If the paint is too thick like vader45 said, you must wash the helmet complete with aceton.Do it outside your house. Its a big mess.Haha..but worth it.;)

If you wanna paint on the old paint later,I would not use more as 1500-2000 Sandpaper. But its so fine, that the effect of sharpening is not really good. But if you wanna spray new primer on the old paintjob, you can also use 600 grit paper.
