Re: Darkside501st's Iron Man Mk VII pepakura files - New Pics pg 100!!

Can you give a little bit more detail of how much to mix ? AS hardener you mean the bondo hardener or resin hardener ? And i am using exposi resin , is it ok too ?

mix the resin withh the body filler and then add the hardener wich you can use any as long as its the same brand as the resin and bodyfiller

I envy those who have cameo silhouettes.....

Yes the Silhouette Cameo sure is nice to have.

I am curious... What exactly do you do to the file that is any different than a regular unfold? The Cameo will cut anything that is within the page borders so I don't see why it would need a special unfold.

Re: Darkside501st's Iron Man Mk VII pepakura files - New Pics pg 100!!

there is nothing really differant with the file i just rearrange it and set the settings aswell as try and reduce the number of pages to save unnecessary page waste to save some money

Darkside....

I have just stumbled upon this art form and looking your work, both in builds and modeling them has been an inspiration. Over the last two weeks, I have probably spent about 13 hours watching tutorials online and reading through forums and collecting files.

I am working a Mark III glove/gauntlet and forearm piece for a costume I will be using soon. Due to time constraints, I am building the palm and forearm out of EVA, but I am pepping the finger joints using 110lbs card stock. I have measured, tested, and fitted the pieces, so I am ready to harden them. For the finger joints, is the hardening procedure the same as other larger parts? Resin the outside > Resin and fiberglass the inside > Bondo the outside > sand > paint?

Is this the best procedure?

Thank you. Yes the procedure is the same, just on a smaller scale. I also did a gauntlet out of fiberglass. Click the link in my signature to see my build thread.

Yes! Your gauntlet post and picture details was one of the first things I stumbled on when searching how to start the project. Taking a look your site, it looks like you have come a long way in honing your skills for this type of thing. The things you are working are amazing. Are all of these skills, working with the electronics and modeling, things you learned strictly around this hobby, or do you do something along these lines professionally?

Re: Darkside501st's Iron Man Mk VII pepakura files - New Pics pg 100!!

I have a question about Zabana's glove.

With the the joined pictures, do I have to scale it down? It seems a bit large for the fingers but the hole for the repulsor is well centered on the palm and I know there is a small problem with the scale for length and width.

I already downscaled it from the default scale 1 to 0.95 and with a smaller scale, I guess I'll lose some details (I already have pieces that are half a millimeter).

Thanks for the advice!

So I don't have to worry about the fingers a bit stretched from each others? It's not like they're quartered...but I know the glove is a tricky part.

And have a good scale between the glove, the handplate and the lower forearms is nightmare! :D

yeh should be good man :) and the forarm wernt that bad although it is a bit tite to get your wrist in lol but all good i like perportions to be right on my suit

Re: Darkside501st's Iron Man Mk VII pepakura files - New Pics pg 100!!

I upscaled the lower forearms, then cut the bottom in half, cut 1cm from each side and then glued it back. So it's now long enough and I kept the symetry.

But if I want the handplate as wide as the lower forearms, it's not wide enough to cover the back of the hand. And If it covers the hand, it too wide for the forearms and overlap. Then the needed modification of the forearms to go to the elbow and the scale of the gloves.

It's a nightmare but damn, I enjoy it! :D
