Cutting through boots for PVC mannequin?

Anyone built a PVC mannequin for a 1:1 display? (Ironman, Stormtrooper, Fett, Vader, etc)

What do you do about the boots?

Do you simply cut a hole in the bottom of them? Is there any other option?

** FYI…I'm aware that if I used a conventional fiberglass mannequin I could use the leg attachment in the calf…but I'm opting to build my own out of PVC

thanks!

why not just use a T connection on the PVC and make your own calf connection.

because that'd be too easy...:lol

actually, that's a great idea…I'm using this for a 1:1 Darth Maul, so his robes cover most of that back there anyway

IF this was another character my concern would be seeing that T connection

ALSO…I'm a bit concerned that only one leg supported with this "T" connection could support the entire figure?…perhaps I could support both legs this way?

** The benefit to going up and through the boots is you can really clamp it down to the base and it's super solid

Hi Ialwasy cut the holes for the shoes, also i have made a calf conection but is visible on the outside.

I would never drill a hole in a costume part for a mannequin... I have a mannequin were you can choose if you use the hole under the left foot, or with a special metal stack a hole in the back of the lower leg. Because I used it always for costumes with a little bit higher boots (Legolas, Jack Sparrow, etc.) it fits between the end of the boot and beginning of the pants. and because it's on the back, you can't see it...

But if it wouldn't work like this, I would think about to build me an alternative method to hold the mannequin...
