Hi guys, I've been a member of this site for a while now and I have seen a lot of really inspiring ideas. Since I am still a bit new at this I decided now is the time more than ever to make a costume of my favorite anti-hero for next years con.

First, the costume that I am basing this off of is not my own art work, it's a re-design of jason todd from red hood and the outlaws by bkitty23-d6qv00n.

I have put my own tweeks on the design in photoshop and once I get permission from the artist I may consider selling the pattern.

Okay, now that that is out of the way...The pattern is already finished on photoshop and looks excellent. I used Taylor Mcmanus's sub dye pattern base to make it, although I am open to advice for improvement since it is my first time.

Second, I will make the helmet myself out of a pep file that I purchased from BlakKaos, also my first time.

Here is a preveiw of the sub dye, if anyone thinks I should do a little more to it please tell me. For the red skull symbol I chose not to do because I'm not really a fan of it, classic bat symbol is just fine with me. Also, I added some arkham symbols because hey it's a free country :D.

I may not update very often due to the fact that I have so much time to do this. The con isn't until May 28 and there may be errors...lots of them, but hey!! lets live a little:p

I just want to say thank you guys so much for the inspiration and all the help, you guys are professional and awesome. If it wasn't for you and this site I would still be playing video games all day not knowing what this feels like.

Update: I decided to re-do the sub-dye print for the red hood costume and I'm pretty happy with the results. I'ts more costume accurate to the picture, though I did leave one little detail out due to lack of a better view.

As you can see I'ts more screen accurate to the fan art, but I did leave out the red stripes on the side of the arms because I didn't have a good enough angle for the reference.
Also, I actually did decide to add the skull, I just couldn't resist it :D

More updates coming soon after I do more work on the helmet. Sorry this isn't as interesting as others threads here, I've just been so busy getting back into college and being a full-time couch potato.

Dude, NEVER worry about "not being as interesting" as other peoples threads. You're working on something! And once this goes from a picture on the screen to physical fabric being assembled, I'm sure there will be more people chiming in to offer feedback, compliments, and opinions. The suit is coming together nicely, so keep up the good work!

Thank you so much for the kind words I really needed that:) This is my first time doing anything like this and I do hope I can finish this all the way through. More pictures coming as soon as I make more progress on the helmet.

Totally agree with Vox. Like the old saying "If you build, they will come." :angel

Update:
Thank you for the kind words guys and I did decide to change the symbol only because I wanted to make a more accurate suit as to the older more sloppy one I made on the first try. Also I added more onto it, more detailed hexagon pattern, neon-like glow to the symbols, etc. I will add a picture of it later.
I finally finished putting together my pepakura helmet today. It's a red hood and the outlaws helmet that I purchased from BlackKaos. It came together rather fine if I do say so myself :D It's not perfect but still looks very detailed.

More updates soon...

Sorry I haven't been updating as often as I'd like. Just have been getting side tracked with other projects. I've also been working on a Simon Baz green lantern suit using photoshop and pepakura...but that's for another thread ^_^

I will update as soon as I buy more materials like fiber glass resin, bondo, and also getting the suit printed.

So...I decided to re-re-design the pattern to something I personally designed myself...and this happened..
New Red Hood Snapshot.jpg

This was the biggest and most complex file I have ever made, just trying to save it freezes the computer. I'm very proud of it :D
Also when I'm finished with this file I will be giving this out to rpf members ONLY for free. Just send me a pm. I'll have to test print it first, of coarse.

It may be a while before I get the helmet finished, because I want to wait until it gets warm outside again. In the meantime I will try to get my suit printed for a test print at least.

Looks really good!!!! If I might ask a question..... Will you print the pattern for people who don't have the material or device to do this? Because I would be interested in buying. So if you get the chance pm me about it.

Looking great so far man!
and also, might I say that the Red X is looking marvelous as well... I've always been a big fan of the concept of Red X.
