Custom coffee mug

Good evening everyone,


I would like to make a Gotham Police Department coffee mug like the one pictured below (held by Lt. Ramirez in TDK) :



The problem is, most places offering custom mug creations only do it if you supply a picture of what you want on it. And as far as I know, there's no high quality GCPD shield picture around :unsure

But since the NYPD shield is very similar, I thought someone skilled enough in photo editing would be able to tweak it...

Basically it's just a matter of changing the "New York" writing by "Gotham" and replacing the center NYPD logo with the GCPD one.

Here's what the GCPD seal looks like up close :



All I have to do is find a high def NYPD shield picture to begin with.

I got my dad a mug a few years ago for father's day with a picture of me and my three kids' photo on it. I used Wal-Mart only because he could pick it up at his local store and I didn't have to reship it.

Vistaprint does them as well and I've never been disappointed by their work.

There is also a member here who works for Vistaprint (sorry man I keep forgetting who) that sometimes has coupons and promotional stuff for members.

Cool thanks, apparently they also exist in France so once I have the proper logo to apply on the mug, i'll see what result they can come up with !

If someone here is able to make a decent GCPD shield logo in a quality good enough to be applied on a coffee mug by Vistaprint or a similar company, then i'll have one made and let everyone know how it turned out. If it looks good then maybe a group order can be made :thumbsup

I use Zazzle for my printing...decent prices easy to customize as well! Just don't publish it for sale,they do take down copy righted stuff if you don't own the copyright! Easy work around though when you create it just make it viewable only to you and no one else. I have used them for my smallville and lost post cards.

Yep Zazzle might do the trick. Although a good quality GCPD shield is still needed! Or can Zazzle supersize and clean a picture before applying it onto something ?

I highly doubt it, if they do they'll charge an arm and a leg for it. You'd be better off doing the work yourself.

OK, here is a rough draft of the badge. I will have some more time to clean this up this weekend. I am not happy with the bird, and the R in department is a little wonky, but I just wanted to throw something up so you wouldn't think I had forgotten about it. :cool
