Hello,
I'm trying to figure out if this is a weapon or maybe a communicator.

This Prop Archive site lists it as a pistol, used in the pilot episode "War Zone".

However, when I watch the scene they mention, (Archaeologist,Max Eilerson/played by David Allen Brooks) it seems like he's using it as some kind of communicator. Any thoughts?
