Corgi Subsidiaries Have Been Placed into Administration

It can't be said the wrath that will fall down if the company goes under before at least meeting their prior commitments! Well, not that I have any strings to pull but dangit! I want my tricorder!

Oh god!?! Does the closing of the forum have anything to do with this????

Neither of the two affected subsidiaries is Master Replicas... it may not have any implications for MR.

Most credit card purchases are insured or can be reimbursed by credit card companies if the company you purchase something from fails to deliver.

It may be worth your while to find out your card company's policy on this. I purchased from a company that filed Chapter 11 that very day, but the retail branches didn't learn of it until after I had made the purchase. I learned the hard way.

Unless something has changed, MR doesn't charge anyone anything until the product ships (not like the old ICONS days). Of course if you have pre-ordered something from an MR dealer that's a different story, they can do whatever they want as far as deposits and prepayment.

A few are predicting that MR will go under next year and this does not look good.

I have my doubts about their future as well, their production has seemed very anemic since the loss of Star Wars. :confused

I'm not worried about getting money back - I'm worried about not getting my tricorder. Not to sound like a baby or anything but I've wanted one of these since I was a kid but could never afford one.

Same here. I'm worried about getting the Tricorder. I know they won't charge my card until they ship it, I'm worried about them going under before the next shipment comes in, if there even is a next shipment.

Come on now. Did anybody expect Master Replicas to survive after losing the Star Wars license? Had it just been the loss of the SW properties, and they had moved into a new chapter of their existence, but still a privately-owned concern, I would have had better hopes for them.

But coupled with losing Star Wars and moving into the CORGI domain, the writing was on the wall. It saddens me greatly because MR put out phenomenal products that truly felt like PROP REPLICAS. The F/X line was genius because it allowed them to bolster cash flows and still focus on their core offerings.

But once CORGI absorbed them, they fell off the map for me. So sad.

To my knowledge we will still be getting the tricorders. They are already made the most part and should be on there way here. Now, anything after the tricorders is up in the air.

Well I don't think that less than a year after corgi bought MR that the name and reputation will just be junked. Probably get sold on to another company. Someone like Dragon could really put out some nice pieces at good prices. I mean most MR stuff needed a bit of accurising anyway so I mean the masses would be happy and we'd get affordable base props to accurise.

Thanks Sycor, I started to post this in your sales thread but took it out because I didn't think it was right. I am glad to hear you are optimistic about the tricorders!
