Sure, the stealth armor was weaker (less firepower, less "armor") but it was just plain cool otherwise.

And I agree that the Layton years were the best. I read the odd issue through the late 70s, but it wasn't until I tripped into Layton's style in the 80s that I fell for Iron Man. My all time favorite, surpassing even the X-Men for me.

The movie version will be based on Adi Granovs latest designs from the comics.
