Converting foam to paper pepakura file?

Hi guys,

I have found a Mark 50 Iron Man suit (AKA endo-sym or Superior Iron Man) foam file for Pepakura Design. Is there a way to get folds and/or tabs back for a paper version of the same armor? The foam version looks great, they even put a skin on it for the proper color. Whoever made it did a paper helmet version and I've built it already. I really want to start on the rest of the suit. I tracked down the guy who supposedly built it in pepakura design, but there's a language barrier and what I gathered, he didn't actually model it and doesn't know who originally built it.

Thanks,
Stig

Hi Stig,

this is something that you can do yourself in the pepakura program:
- 2d menu > show flaps
-2d menu > edge color > select pencil and the color black, set settings to 159 > go to the print overview on the right side of your screen,left-click and go over the piece with your cursor; folds will now appear on your piece

*Note: sometimes small pieces were omitted on the right side (print overview) because of foam thickness. You can reinsert them in the print overview yourself

That a great start George, thanks so much. Now the issue I have is the flaps are gigantic spikes that overlap everything. Is there a way to define how long the flaps can be?

In the 2d menu, look for "edit flaps" > at the top of the small screen that pops up,look for the tab that says "shape".
There you can alter the size of the flaps (5mm by default)
