Continuum

Well, it's over. We just watched the season finale last night.

The last season was a bit of a stinker - the show lost most of what made it very good at the beginning:

Alec being crazy smart and saving the day by figuring stuff out - he was more of a love sick side kick
Kiera trying to bring down terrorists - if she said "I just want to go home to my family' one more time I was going to throw a brick at the screen. I have kids, I get that they want to make the woman hero have a strong motivation that is compelling, but I have to think sacrificing my ability to raise my own kids when I have the opportunity to save their future and the entire world's so my kids can have a better life is worth more than me just getting to see them again regardless of the risk of what kind of world it is. At least at the END she saw it that way, but it took forever.
Carlos tough and clueless, but got the job done - in the end he wasn't clueless, but more often than not walked around helpless
Kellog - not in the show much - MAJOR player "blech, cheesy bad guy smile. dislike"
Liber8 - doing the right thing the wrong way, convincing the protector to see things their way - lost and aimless and getting knocked off one by one
Julian - dark and mysterious mad at the world - dark and mysterious and just not in the show enough
Time people - didn't really ever like them much.
New villains - just not very compelling, especially since they were in it with Kellog, who I disliked.

I do have to say that I liked the way they wrapped it up... it gave some nice happy ever after feelings for Alec and Emily and Julian and Alec and sticking Kellog where they stuck him. hahaha! But the best was what they did to Kiera. It was both heart breaking and appropriate. How else could they have made it work?

What would have been nice would have been to see what sort of company Alec was able to create and what he had done to make sure other people did not create a corporate congress. The way they wrote the show it was as if only one or two people had the idea and without them everyone's going to just be happy in peaceful democracy. if only.

The show lost a lot of what made it good long before the fourth season. There was just too much extraneous nonsense that got thrown in that they kind of had to ignore at the end, which is a shame because they really wasted a lot of time on things that were utterly pointless, such as having Emily leave, having the whole sub-plot about who Alec is supposed to marry, only to have him marry Emily off-camera anyhow. They could have not done any of that at all and had more time to do things that were important to the main story.

Just seen the last episode, they really threw everything at it, even blew someones head clean off, which you dont see a lot on tv shows.

Space ***** was a bit confusing, I guess he would have been more relevant in a full season.

Anyone else think as soon as the credits finished rolling our Kira offed the other one and replaced her?

Nah, don't think so. That would be so OOC. I wished that Kiera would have returned back to a changed timeline, where she is not occupying the space-time twice and would have seen a record of Fonegra greeting her in a video as an old man. All in all, they wrapped it up the best they could.
