Nice to see our very own Chewie15 sculpting the 1:1 ESB Yoda bust for Sideshow Collectibles. Great job Howard. Is it a new sculpt or was it based off your original?

Woah, did the green eyed monster just wave his lightsaber?

I always think it's cool when members here get to work on official projects. There will always be someone producing something better which is what drives us all on to do better.

First off... thanks. I'm very happy to have had this amazing opportunity :) I would have to say the ones who need a congrats is Sideshow, they really put this together well and orchestrated everything.

*Edited to stay peaceful* ;)

This version was sculpted 100% from scratch for them, here's a few shots that show him a little better than some shots... and Rebel Scum has more, and there shots came out great...

Howard - that is phenomenal.
Do you have a comparison shot between your current sculpt and the one you made before? I have a cast of the full body version, and I might tradeit off and get this one - or maybe graft the Sideshow top to the resin bottom and replace the robes, mwuhahahhaaa (hak koff) hhhhhaaaa. That way I don't have to paint my Yoda head, which I haven't had the time to do anyway. They the same size? Would that work?

Your Yoda is a fantastic sculpt that's faithful to the OT Yoda we remember (something that Lucas' people couldn't do in 1999, for some unfortunate reason), and kudos for getting immortalized in the Star Wars product line. Every time I look at the MR Falcon and Enterprise, I get to see the elements I worked on "fully realized in the flesh" and get a rush of excitement. I used to wonder what it would be like to be those guys at Kenner, making the toys I grew up with, and here we are as adults, doing just that, and watching our contemporaries do just that. It's an amazing thing, and I hope you're utilized often.

:D

I've known you for awhile now Howard and I'm just surprised none of the more commercial vendors haven't snaged you and your talents up sooner.

I thought your full sized Yoda would be the be-all-end-all to my collection - looks like I'm going to need one more piece. :)

Kudos to you man.

I know the feeling... I've been a fan since I was 6. Star Wars got me started with drawing at age 6 as well :)

Simmon, you have everything man... can't stop now :D

Thanks Shawn.

And, they didn't come to me for the necklace??? Those bastards.

Is the best Yoda that has ever been available.

Fantastic work Howard. You have a great and wonderous talent, and it's fantastic that you're getting this opportunity to show that talent. Congrats. :thumbsup

I LOVE that Yoda... one question Howard, how come sideshow didn't go with a dirty weathered Jedi Robe? Isn't this the ESB /ROTJ version or is it the ROTS version? Looks more like the ESB one to me.
Anyway, congrats, I'm glad your talents finally got put to official use..

Howard is one of the do'ers on these boards. Without fine workmanship like his to drive the best out of people we would always have sub standard merchandise.

Frankly I don't think theres much to complain about here. Just remember 10 years ago when there was alot worse out there. He has my congrats on a job well done.

So well deserved that it's ridiculous. I was wondering who was going to harness Howard's talents into the corporate sector...leave it to him to be saddled with the best....and visa versa.

Howard, could not have happened to a nicer guy.

Cool. You need to work you way into their 12" SW line too. So far any sculptors on here could do better sculpts than them.
