Colossus Costume from Xmen

I started another thread about fabric for this costume, but I wanted to pick the minds of the great people here on the RPF on what I should do for the chrome muscle look of Colossus, the Xmen resident strongman. I havent decided on what I want to do for the arms, or how I would go about doing it. I was thinking of making a mold of my arms, sculpting muscles(mine are big but not THAT big) and casting them in foam latex, then buying some chrome paint and trying to paint them. Im not opposed to doing foam, or trying to cast them out of resin, but Im open to suggestions. Anyone have any interesting ideas?

Are you going with the film design that has silver muscle fibers showing, or the comic that has a plated look?

I was thinking of going the comic route and making it plated, I was thinking the movie style, but I didnt want to be associated with that, or make it look too muddled lol.

Thanks Monty for linking that, but I tried contacting the artist, and he never got back to me. I would love to have some of his insight, but alas, he didnt reply. =(

the Artist is Jose Fernandez. the foam latex arm was painted with impireflex then alumiluster made by Imperial Surfaces. If Jose didnt get back to you, its because they are busy building the new Batman suit

Holy **** thanks so much man. Those sound expensive, can civilians buy those things? The paint and stuff I mean. I have some foam latex, but I have never made a sleeve. Would you happen to know how to do the process for an arm piece like that?

So Jose emailed me back, basically said he couldnt tell me anything, so that was unfortunate. "Trade secrets" he said, so that bummed me out.

ptgreek, do you know where to get the impireflex? I checked out their website and couldnt find anything, they did however have the alumiluster. Thanks so much for that info by the way.
