Colonel George Taylor (Chuck Heston) POTA Costume for Halloween 2010

Hey guys!

I figured it out. I am going as Colonel George Taylor from Planet of the Apes (1968)

I love this movie and the whole series. I have a beard and the rough build.

I would go as Heston pre-ape abduction.. so I would still be wearing the jumpsuit etc... no rips, no loin-clothes, lol.

Any ideas from the masters of costuming on here. I'd prefer to do this as inexpensively as possible.

Potentially want the silver backpack worn also.

Just Google "Cosplay Planet Of The Ape Costume." You can order a nice replica of Taylor's white jumpsuit for under $200.00, but you'll have to supply the boots & backpack.

True dat! The $200 costume on Feebay was the cheapest I have seen of it being available but I have never seen it in person--or at least better shots of it. The $600 one I have seen (not in person though) (Magloli? Magnoli? Can't remember...) looks right for the money.

Apemania makes the best backpack, but it will cost you a kidney.

I found it! I don't know how the Feebay costume compares, but this one looks like the real deal, and not THAT expensive considering that it is tailor made and looks most awesome.

I may be talking out of my @$$, but that suit looks a lot like racing leathers I've seen for bikers... maybe there are some "Simplicity" or "Kwik Sew" patterns that come close to it? :confused

And the pack can be made of foam-board or the like... it's not that detailed.
