Done / Completed **Closed**TFA: Melted Vader Helmet (MasterEdi V2)

I tried to pick up my parcel today, had a note left in my mailbox yesterday, but the post office has since lost it. I was there an hour while they searched. Manager says he will talk to the postman to ask where he could have left it and get back to me by the end of the day. :(

Ok, went back and got it right before they closed. They had marked the box and shelved it by Ed's address instead of mine. This morning they had looked at the box next to it multiple times and I told them a couple times that that box was too small and it should be the size of the one next to it (which was it), assumed they had looked at that too, why not look when I said it was the perfect size?

Sculpt looks great, one side is broken into a few pieces. I'll fix that tomorrow, hopefully this rain will stop and I can spray some primer tomorrow also. I just use the big Krylon canned stuff (Black in this case as anything that gets into the center I'm not going to be able to reach to paint over).

The stand I posted above doesn't work very well, need to find or make something larger.
(edit. oh, I like it on the box I got for a Maz type saber display. I am using the stand here as it is not sliding around as it did on the shelf. Maybe it just needs better rubber feet then for shelf use. Plywood is just there from another project)

I think you forgot to wave your fingers and say "that's the box I'm looking for." I'm glad you kept your composure; I think I would have gone postal (as they say) if I thought they had lost my melted vader helmet. Sorry to hear that some pieces broke off. Thanks for the pics.

For those getting the unpainted version:

I didn't get a reply to my question of casting clean up for paint a few post above, and the casting wasn't an evenly black resin look, having some lighter areas, so I figured it was just release agent residue and cleaned mine up this morning. The cleaning stripped the black paint off down to white and rust colored base, these might just primer as the broken off pieces are black all the way through. There was also a softer, flocky type, coating on the flat bottom which is gone now. So for anyone else painting theirs, I'd consider it already primed with a black base coat ready to paint over, than a raw cast unpainted.

Finished painting mine today...
Amazing job!!!... Both you and R2 Dan's look fantastic! ... As for questions on another run... I doubt it. Because of the complexity of this sculpt, and difficulty in casting, I will do the best I can to make as many as I can. Already the mould is showing wear :( So I will finish the initial run, and still contact a few at a time on the interest list for as long as I can... Maybe in the future someone will be able to recast it. Even improve upon it... I'm open to possibilities, because I genuinely want those who want one to get one.

Cool, some sort of stand would be cool. The plastic tablet stand is a little too small, and doesn't want stay still. On the small chest it is ok due to the edges and leather bands, but on a flat shelf it slips out under it. The PropShop one looks a little too large for me, maybe if the middle sat on the ground, and the front wasn't as tall....
