Clone Trooper Helmet Project (PICS)

Here is a cast of a clone trooper helmet i've been working on. Its a Christmas present for my oldest Son.

The mic tips were molded in with the helmet, but the area around the mics was very scruffy, so i cut those areas out, so the helmet had big holes like a Tie pilot helmet and then plated them up again with styrene sheet. I also rebuilt the best of the two mic tips and molded it so i could cast two new ones:

I fiberglassed the inside of the helmet and formed the lens from thick acrylic sheet:

Here is the helmet finished and painted. After sanding the paint and T-cutting it, the finish of the paint is smoother than glass :D :

Thanks wackychimp for hosting,

Wow. What a lovely, clean cast... and beautifully finished. Your eldest son will be one happy camper, er, trooper. :thumbsup

Excellent work.

Would that be a Javamonkey helmet Keith?

I thought he made his out of poly resin.

Cheers, Steve

If I'm not wrong (and I think I'm NOT), that is a MR recast ;) ... At least to my eyes, (and to more of my senses :D )

Great work on that.

Looks nice. mind if I share a few pics of my latest Clone helmet, too?
Mine is a OSCS with the removable face, because the neck ring is too small to squeeze your head in.

Thanks.

I bought the helmet from someone on the RPB called Protocal 1 or something like that.

Keith.

Awesome job done there Keith...

Can you be my dad too ?? lol...

Must get myself a Clone lid sometime....

Very impressive guys, I'd love to get one of these too (the removable face seems like a clever idea).

Merry Christmas

Alan.

Very nice Keith and I`m sure you`ve made your son very proud of you. :)

Cheers,
Ben

Hardcore. I like the paint job

Seeing a plain white one makes me realise how similar they are to the Stormie helmets (in the back)

just wondering how this gift went over with your son yesterday... was he an enthusiastic recipient??? i would have been. excellent work :)

Thanks for your kind words.

My Son loved the helmet. He said it was his favourite present :)

Keith.
