Cleaning your TOS tunics?

So I recently purchased a TOS tunic and pants from murraymousie and would like to get it cleaned after the tailoring is done on it. The pants are easy but the tunic is velour.

Would be okay to dry clean it?

I know several of you have these... and no one has ever laundered them? :confused

I always hand-wash mine with Woolite and lay it flat on towels to dry.
Dry cleaning is the best way, I suppose, but let them know it is a one-of-a-kind and ask them to be careful cleaning it.
If you MUST machine wash it, turn it inside out, place it in a laundry bag and wash it on GENTLE cycle with a gentle cleaner, like Woolite. DO NOT dry it in a dryer!
