Hi! I draw a comic called The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. It got turned into a Netflix series, so you may have seen that.
Anyway, since nobody has come along to produce an official (or garage) Sabrina kit, I decided to kitbash my own! I've been thinking about making this classic-Aurora style kit since I started working on the comic. It took a few years to be confident enough in my modeling to give this a go. And what better way to spend lockdown?
The plan was to make a kit that felt like vintage Aurora, and built using the paints and inks I use to make the actual comic.
Started with a generic 1/8 scale resin figure kit I found on eBay and a resin moon base from Atlantis kits.
I dremelled the craters off of the moon, sculpted a tree from Aves Apoxie Sculpt and added branches from the vintage Aurora Monster Customizing kit.
Sleeves, cuffs, hair sculpted from Aves.
Tombstone sculpted from dense modeling foam with box cutter and dremel.
Broom was a dowel with bristles from an old barbeque basting brush.
Salem the cat was a thrift shop find, painted to match.
I've built a lot of kits this lockdown, but this one is special. Thanks for checking it out.
