Cast from smooth-cast roto, 1/4" thick, 2.5 lbs. Rim opening 6 1/2" x 8 1/4" , it's 27 3/4" outside circumference. My head is 6 1/4", 22" round and fits me perfect. The hinged version has friction slide hinges to allow me to slide the face plate up and back manually. I also installed clear safety lenses and an e-l lite strip for the glowing eyes effect. I aslo put on foam pads with felt for comfort. Let me know what you think!:cool

Im not a huge fan of the new movie helmet but thats one impressive piece of work. I think ive seen it around other boards/threads, cant get much better than this.

How is your vision with the glowing eyes? Happen to have a pic of this e-l strip you use? Its absolutly perfect for the job, and I hope to be able to do something similar with my iron man project.

Very nice!:thumbsup
I really like the hinge system you've got in there, might have to try something similar in mine when I start working on it.

Thanks for sharing :)

It's a friction slide hinge from Home Depot or Lowes. I spent a couple days fabing up a custom hinge system that didn't work. Finally went to the hardware store and there it was, just what I needed.:lol
