Chappie costume

Heya, my first thread

I'm currently working (slowly) on making a Chappie costume

I'm starting with the head, which will be 3D printed, the rest will most likely be EVA foam.

My model was created in Autodesk Inventor because it's the only thing I have experience with, but it works perfectly for this so there's that.

So after a nice amount of hours I went from this

To finally, this (which is still not the final version but at the time of writing this, I don't have a newer pictures. The only "big" change though is the camera pod on the chin.)

I'm trying to make the head as small as possible so I can get the whole costume as much in scale as possible.
It's of course still a bit wider than the actual Chappie, but it'd be great if I didn't have to crush my head to fit it in without oversizing the model!

Did a quick test and rough test print to see if my plans actually worked out, and they did!

So right now I'm working on printing everything but cleaner and with a higher resolution.

Not much new to share, I've had a few problems with printing but it's running nicely now.
My model is (finally) completely done though, with all the details I wanted on it.

A bit far away because otherwise I would get a picture like I'm pressing my face against it and this is my first time using the Render tool.

Space for LED's, some forgotten details, yada yada, that kind of stuff.
Next time I'll be able to show some more actually printed stuff. The main frame is done and right now I'm working on the eye piece.

Finally some actual physical progress to show
Printing is going slow as I have little time and the occasional printing problem which is just great.
But I'm getting there.
