catwoman batman returns latex mask

Hi there all....ok here is my first prop/mask made from start to finish...it is the michelle pfeiffer mask i have incoporated the chin strap into the mask just makes it easier than trying to make this after looks good when being worn all in one..

i made the the original from a sculpt and then casted a master mould out of hurculite 2 and then rotate/slush casted the late with pigment after here are the pics bellow ........thanks for looking

here is where i started putting the ears on the sculpt

i started to do the smoothing out of the mask and adding the stitching

i missed tacking a pic of applying the plaster for the mould but here is the pics as i opened the mould after it set

as you can see when opening it destroyed the original sculpt so no going back on detail now lol

you can see where the clay is stuck in the stitching which i cleaned out with a tooth pic

here is the first pull out of the cast all it needs is the eyes and mouth area cutting out and trimming i was going to paint it but opted out and used black latex pigment which you will see bellow

ok here is the finished mask in black and stitching all painted up not to bad lol

Are you cover the entire ears with the first part of ultracal mold or you mold it appart?

Hi there i covered the entire back half of the sculpt including the ears and then second part as just the front i used hurculite 2 for the cast dental plaster

And then how did you retire de mold? I supose that you cut the ears while you picked up the mold... Is that right? By the way, sorry my english, I'm from Spain xD

hello thats ok ....i dont quite understand .....after casting the sculpt of the clay model .....and peeled all the clay out of the cast and cleaned it up ....i put the two parts of the mould together then ran a seal of plaster around the inside to seal them both together as one smoothed the joint with my finger as it dried this then gives the mask a seamless look after you cast it......i just pour in the latex and slush cast by seining the mould around in my hands......i hope this helps to your question thanks.
