Casting Skulls

Hi everyone

So as the title says I want to cast some animal skulls in either latex or resin to go with my pred suit and a few other costumes I have in the works BUT I have no idea how to go about making the molds or what to use because of the complex shape

on a limb here i would say that if you check through some of the huntorials on how to you may find something helz....

Those are some really complex parts to cast and require some advanced knowledge of molding and casting, I would suggest doing your homework before attempting. perhaps get your feet wet with the horns first as they would be the easiest of the bunch. There are lots of good tutorials out there on youtube

its all about the dividing line and where you would split the mold.
For these skulls you may have to create 2 to 3 part rubber molds plus creating a hard jacket mold that will fit like a 3D puzzle.

for doing intricate things like this Smooth-On's Dragonskin is perfect because it can stretch when you have a lot of undercuts. i would fill in some of the deeper holes with clay like in the nasal cavities. you can always drill it out later.
