I'd like to start off, long time reader first time poster.
I bought an eBay Cap cosplay for a con in 2012, I had to modify it but other than that it looked the part. My problem with it is that the designs and the material made it very difficult to move. The jacket is based on a motorcycle jacket design, and the trousers eventually ripped due to inflexibility.

Since I now have to arrange new trousers, it makes sense to design a new jacket as well. I want to be able to move more, actually kick above my waist and lift my arms above my head without the jacket riding up.
My question: what material should I look into for the torso? I figured the trousers could work from sports equipment running trousers, but I've no idea what materials up top would look right whilst allowing me to move freely. Any suggestions welcome.
