Can you get replacement parts for bandai kits?

Hi all, was happily putting together a bandai 1/72 y wing and unfortunately the glue was knocked over soaking the lower half of the cockpit so after a couple of tears were shed I was thinking about scratch building one but I wouldn't be able to get anywhere near the detail I wanted so started looking for a replacement with no luck and didn't want to buy a new kit just for the one part so would anyone be able to help me find one or maybe someone can print one or possibly someone knows how to get a replacement part from bandai themselves?

Ouch, that really is no fun. Sorry to hear. :(

I personally do not know of any way to order spares, other than having one 3D printed... I would think ordering spares from BanDai/Revell (if it is even possible), it would probably be more cost effective to get a new kit. What type of glue did you spill? Some glues you can remove simply with a warm water bath. If you upload a picture of the damage, I am sure you may get some suggestions on how to repair it.

It was a bottle of ema plastic weld which is very aggressive and after only a couple of seconds most of the surface detail was melted so pretty much impossible to fix but if possible I would like to see if I can get a 3d printed replacement as I don't think I can scratch build it with the same kind of detail

Maybe you'll find an opened or partial kit on eBay?

Maybe you can sell your kit as a partial to help finance a replacement?

I guess that means "no".

You can try this:

Don't mean to hijack your thread, buy had a similar question.

Bought a used (partially assembled) Bandai C3P-O, and was so diligent about checking that all parts were there that I forgot to check Polycaps, and of course, 2 were gone.

As it's 3PO, I'm not a bit concerned about losing articulation in one leg, which is where the 2 polycaps would go.
I've considered carving a wooden or plastic piece and someone in a forum mentioned Gundam builders sometimes ditching the polycap parts and making a wire armature, but I'm finding very little info.

If anyone has a link they'd share (or any tips) I'd be very grateful.

Happy Holidays you wacky builders !
