Can silicone go off?

Howdy peeps...

Ive got a few tins of silicone etc but it has been stored up for over a year now...

Is it a case of open it and see/test or will it definately be "off" so to speak?

Thank you!

Actually it will depend. They have a shelf life for a reason.
If is just over a year old then it -should- be just fine. If you got it a year ago and it was on the shelf before that the who knows how old it is. If it's still has the original seal I would expect it's good.

My local supplier sell the oldest stock first and they date it when they get it. Some shelf lives are shorter than others. You may not be able to tell for sure till you catalyze it too. :D

I might just be over analyzing it too.
