Can anyone ID this fabric? (Fantastic 4 Movie)

I'm looking for something similar to this fabric used on the Fantastic 4 movie suits. Remember it has to be stretchy...

oooooh. I don't remember who, but SOMEONE did a ton of research on this and got REALLY close. Shoot. I'll scrape through my archives and see if I can dig up a name. Hrm.

I've been curious about this one too! At one time I was going to try and do it out of a wet suit... but then I realized I'd probably be extremely hot and uncomfortable all night!

Sorry everyone, I am no help. I found my buddy who was searching for it, but he ultimately came up empty handed. And he spent MONTHS looking for it. Including a bunch of trips downtown to browse through warehouses filled with fabric. He concluded that it must have been a custom weave for the production.

Sorry :(

I was looking for that a while ago aswell. Went as far as contacting the original costume team for advice (nothing) and I brought a load of the packs of trading cards to get a costume card I could show around to suppliers. Still nothing. Let me know if you find anything.

Been trying to find such a fabric for a long time, too.
I also contacted Jose Fernandez, of Ironhead Studios Ironhead Studio
He quickly and kindly replied. Unfortunately I can't find the message right now but he basically said the following:
He was really lucky to have found such a fabric. In fact he bought all of it. There is nothing left. Unfortunately he can't remember what the material is called and where exactly he got it. He just knew that it was in L.A.

So the search begins again...
I know this doesn't really help but that's all I can contribute to solving this mystery.

The texture makes it look like the abrasion-resistant nylon that backpacks are made from. But that would be really uncomfortable to wear.

I know this is an old thread, but I'm fairly new at posting. This looks like a Gabardine Twill weave, which I've used to replicate a cavalry gabardine twill for some of my historic costumes. I've also seen it in a polyester blend that is stretchy.
