"C" Movie -- retro-style SciFi

I saw this posted on Slashdot. Apparently this film, called "C" (as in the speed of light), is being made without CGI or greenscreens, just miniatures and in-camera effects. There's a teaser trailer here:

They claim it's hard scifi. I hope it's done well, and focuses on human exploration and such, instead of the overdone people-versus-technology theme.
