First, my apologies for posting naked male maneqiunns but I need the opinion of our lifesize specialists.
I've decided on one of these two. Please place your vote keeping in mind Hellboy, his nature, his character and the size of (dear lord) his whammer. :lol

Choice A:

Choice B:

Now obviously which ever I go with it will be heavily modified (padded, head replaced, etc)

Thanks to the 'Chimp for making these pics possible.

Almost forgot. The reason I chose these two is because they are both over six fet tall.

I like the first one but would work on that right hand. I'd modify it so it's bent upwards holding the Samaritan.

I've been toying with this idea too, since I won't have anything to hang on my mannequin when my Batsuit goes. After some pondering on my own (already cut up and modified mannequin), the conclusion I came to is this:

Almost any one you choose will still need some heavy mods to look really good if you're aiming for a "natural" superhero pose. I would study specific photos or Mignola pics of ol' Red and then start cutting up that sucker with a hacksaw. Luckily, those things are almost always fiberglass and so can easily be "welded" back together with fiberglass/polyester filler (used to patch up boats and cars)

Choice A, just because the overall pose is a little more exciting, but man it's head is turned at a drastic angle. I hope that would be one of the fixes. :)

Other than that, I agree with Simmon, alter that hand so it's holding the gun up.

Perhaps turn the head the other way and go for something like this...

I think all the height in that second one is coming from that scary long neck.

I don't particularly care for the way that A has his weight shifted. It looks to me like he's a little too light on his feet. Maybe he's just about to break into song with "Rah Rah Rasputin"

Personally I prefer B just because of the leg position. I figure you can do more modification on the arms than you can the legs. But I've never modded a mannequin before. I just don't think A has a very Hellboy like stance.

I think here's what NOT to do: http://cgi.liveauctions.ebay.com/10...013QQitemZ230230188024QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW
He's not even looking at where he's pointing that gun!

Honestly, neither of those manequinns are going to be good for what you want to do. HB/Ron is barrel chested. Those manequinns are nancy-boys.

In order to get the correct proportions, you'd have to pull off the arms, bulk the chest, bulk the arms and then find a way to securely attach the two. Plus, all the work you'd need to do to reposition the arm(s) makes it not really worth it. And to make it more natural looking (if you're going for the second pose) you'd need to twist the upper torso to match his head and arm.

What I think you should do is get some pvc piping, pvc glue and a 5 pound bag of quickcrete. A PVC manequinn is fairly easy to construct, plus the poses are almost limitless - especially if you plan out what lengths of pipe you'll need and the types of connectors. Just remember to make the shoulders and hips wider than what you would think to account for bulk.

The quickcrete is for the legs. Fill the leg pipes with the quickcrete for stability so you don't have to worry about him being top heavy.

After you've created the wire frame (from pvc) wrap it in bubble wrap and duct tape. You'd be surprised how convincing you can make it look if you carefully "sculpt" the wrap/tape.

But, that's just my 2 cents.

If I had to choose between either, it would have to be number two. The stance of A....well let's just say HB would never be in that stance....ever....in a million years....ever....no.

Hi there!
Is it possible to choose the single parts of a mannequin (limbs, torso, head,...) when ordering?
If that's the case, maybe something like this roughly photoshoped selection would be cool enough?!
Well, at least kind of masculine :$
Just a thought...
