BTTF2 Pizza - Complete

I did a search and came up with no results (maybe my search skills are lacking) for the dehydrated pizza. I found images where someone made this, but the links suggest it was not from this site.

2 Questions:

1. What diameter is this thing?
2. How thick is it?

I have a heap of 10mm Perspex discs about 80mm dia and today took to one with a variety of tools with the hope of transforming it to look something like the prop in the film. The challenge being to keep it looking like it was hand made and not made in a mold.

Looking at mine, I need to round the edges more, but I also think it is too thin. I found an image of the prop (or a replica of) in someone's hand and assume I've got the size close.

I have no idea what to use as the bag, though I do have the graphics for that already.

Re: Hydrate Level 4 Please

I'm not sure but i'm pretty sure the hydrated pizza was a 15" pizza. Assuming that is correct and can be verified, can you workout the diameter of the mini pizza from the screen caps

Futurepedia says that Large pizzas had a dehydrated diameter of 4".

That's about the extent of my dehydrated pizza knowledge. There are plenty of auctions on eBay for the bag props though.

Re: Hydrate Level 4 Please

This is graphic I have for the bag.

These images came from a website pointing out things BTTF2 got wrong. It says that the pizza is 2.5" when dehydrated and it becomes 15" after hydration.

There is also this image of a prop (real prop?) sitting on the bag.

So either it is larger than 2.5" or the graphic is way smaller than the one I have posted and will need scaling down. I guess the easiest thing for me to do is scale the graphic down.

Larger res & more info regarding who made it (together with the wrapper) etc here.

HTH :)

Look at the Pizza Hut bag. It has a little warning on there about not eating it while it's dehydrated.

It could lead to all sorts of follow up TV shows like Myth Busters - will your belly really explode if you eat the dehydrated pizza?

It would put an interesting spin on Pizza Hut's "all you can eat" thing :lol

This is one of those deceivingly simple props. It appears to be really simple, yet has given people a hard time for ages :lol

Where did you get yours Alan?

Hey thanks for that Allan. Ahh so it was your hand in the image I found today? I assume our hands are about the same size and if so, then my pizza [in the making] is close. Mine is 2.75" Dia and if get time tomorrow, I might grind a touch off the size as well as round the edges.

Nope. It doesn't say don't eat it. It says don't eat it unless it's fully rehydrated.

Would it perhaps cause indigestion because its undercooked ?

Or break a tooth ?

No idea :lol

Nice touch with the 'disclaimer' they inserted though :)

A few years back, there was a kids toy that rapidly expanded when soaked in water and it was pulled from shelves when apparently some kids ate them in their 'dehydrated' form.

So looking at your images again, is the pizza and the red circle in the packet the same size?

They still sell something like that in dollar stores here. They have snakes and bugs that you put in water and they grow. I recall kids swallowing them and they get stuck after drinking. I'm shocked they still sell them.

Sounds like the same thing.
