Interest BTTF II <> Biff's Pleasure Paradise Matchbook

No problem. Here are two screen captures of both, the AUTO DETAILING and the PLEASURE PARADISE variants. On the first picture you can see the white stripes of Biff's adidas tracksuit or the white frame of the window behind him. By comparison, the color of the matchbooks is much more yellow. The same on the second picture: On the left side is a white tray.

Looks like ivory. (beige) I'll think about that.

Interested in this item. Waiting for final pics and variants to decide what would I buy, but interested, anyway ;-)

They showed up.

I ordered 2 different match orders from 2 different websites. Both showed *WHITE* matchsticks. But when they arrived, they are *BLACK* matchsticks.

No joy. They did have the ivory covers, but I have no idea where to get white matchsticks.

------- edut --------

Found them.

They probably won't be used, can"t they be painted in white somehow?

I would prefer the correct color rather then the time consuming task of painting them. (especially as my painting skills are weak.)

I will try again, but first email the person and make sure their pictures are Accurate.

The way I see it, if you're gonna make a Back to the Future Matchbook replica, why not be annoying with the details ? :D

The one that probably won't make it is,

- Inside of the matchbook is the text "CLOSE COVER BEFORE STRIKING" - "Futura" font (medium or bold)

I have to fiddle (A LOT !) with the settings of my printer to get it to print on the matchbooks at all. I don't think that running
the matchbook through my printer a second time for the inside is really an option. Most likely, it would melt the first printing
off by running it through a second time.

What about doing a custom self inking stamp. Like these http://www.vistaprint.co.uk/rubber-...&GP=4/21/2016+4:56:08+PM&GPS=3918436039&GNF=0

There are various companies online that do custom ones, so i'm guessing you could do the text in whatever style you want. Then you can line up the stamp in the correct place on the matchbook and stamp the text on. I'm not sure if this is the best option, but certainly is another option? This way the matchbook covers won't smudge or bend in the printer.

A good idea. Stamps are what I used for my BiffCo napkins four and two years ago: http://www.therpf.com/showthread.php?t=216005

In combination with permanent ink it works fine.

I went back to Emma's thread to look at those "screen used" matchbooks.

Some of them *DO* have the half sized staple that is found on many Genuine matchbooks.

But close examination of some of them show half sized HOLES where the staple has been removed and a standard size
staple has been added instead. In other words, they look like my COPY instead of an original movie prop.

Clearly some of the matchbook staples do not match consistently across the ones claiming to be screen used.

It's possible that the original staples started to rust (two decades are a long time) and one of the former owners of the matchbooks replaced them by new ones.

Ah. Certainly a possibility. The Ghostbusters Ecto 1 was "repaired" and the new stuff wasn't the same type as the originals. (different thread).

So, it does happen.
