BSG Prop Hunt.

Hey everyone,

I lived in BC for the past 10 years (moved back East recently) and while there, I worked and lived in the same area in which lots of the new Battlestar Galactica TV series was shot. (In fact a life long friend worked at the same studio they shot some interior stuff at and related a story of walking to his car at the end of the day to look up and lo' and behold see a someone pushing a viper across the parking lot!)

Around the same time the show was being filmed, I had the habit of frequenting a number of local home decoration stores with my wife. On one of our trips, I bought a pretty cool looking statue that caught my eye. I think it might have been homesense (for all you non Canadians, they sell discounted and surplus furniture and home decor stuff there)

At Least a few months or more go by and I'm watching BSG on Space and in a scene in Admiral Adamas quarters right in the background, up on a tall shelf in the corner is my statue! I have no idea HOW I managed to notice it but I did. It was in shadow but completely clear and recognizable. I don't have any way of knowing if mine was the actual one used on screen but I'd like to THINK it was.:rolleyes

Here's my challenge.... I don't have the series and I've since forgotten which episode I'd seen the statue in...

Is anyone here crazy enough to watch the show and try to find it for me?

It's like looking for a needle in a haystack I know... But I do think it would have been in an episode before they landed on any planets. Jeeze that doesn't nail it down does it...

Here is a pic I took today. It's around 13" tall and a dark burgundy colour.

(forgive the big obvious watermark but I am new to the RPF and I keep seeing people do this with their shots so I figured there was a good reason for it. One day I will learn why...)

If you do watch some episodes and remember to look for it and you DON'T see it in any scenes with Adama in his quarters, let me know which episode so I can put it on my "Not" list.

Watermarking your images is to stop other people 'stealing' them and using them without permission.

In looking through the Propworx auction archive for BSG, I found the statue in your pic. According to their records, the one used in the show sold on day 2 of the first Live Auction. Here's the link.

I have a few things that decorated Adama's quarters too. In the US, mine were at a store called AJ Wright. They were all very cheap (shadow boxed small sculptures that were about $15 or less)- AJ Wright went out of business last year though.

Awesome thanks for posting this. Yep that's definitely the one. I guess mine isn't the "authentic" show prop. Although we can be sure it came from the same mould and was most likely purchased from the same store near the studio.

Edit: and now it's official, this is my very first "movie prop". My collection of one. I will still try to find the episode that it was in.
